"101 of my favorite wine of the year 2010" : Clos Solene Essence de Roussane 2009
This wine, which debuted in 2007, has already established
owners Solene and Guillaume Fabre as consummate producers
of the luscious varietal.
Wonderful scents of honeysuckle and herbes de Provence blend
with traces of granite on the nose, while flavors of white peach
and nectarine regale the palate.

"100 perfect pours 2009": Clos Solene Essence de Roussanne 2007
Rhone varietals have come to dominate winemaking-at least,
the very best winemaking in the Paso Robles region,
whose reputation not long ago rested primarily on Zinfandel
and a select few Bordeaux style wines.
French interest in the area has been notable:
Tablas Creek is a partnership between a local grower and Chateau de Beaucastel,
while Stephan Asseo left France to establish L'Aventure.
Guillaume Fabre has introduced a somptuous, honeyed Roussanne from Booker Vineyard.(60$)
