Combining Viognier and Roussanne from Glenrose and James Berry Vineyards, the 2018 vintage is stunning. The weather pattern during harvest helped to slow down the maturation a little and therefore develop this flavor profile. I find it to be the best since my arrival 14 years ago. We continue to farm both in head train and trellis. The wine has a refined bouquet of honeysuckle and some tropical notes. Nicely balanced, it has a great texture, a lingering finish with a beautiful minerality. To describe it I would use the word elegance. It was aged 6 months in 320L barrels, mostly neutral with 30% new. This wine can be cellared for 8 to 10 years with a peak at 6 years.
